Patches of black ice along full length of A6, no evidence of gritting

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 09:17, Fri 22 November 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6770231.

I ride to work from Great Moor to Longsight - along the entire length of the route, there was no evidence this morning of any gritting having been done overnight, with patches of black ice. Other cyclists were falling off, having braked at a traffic lights and lost grip. Pedestrians were falling at crossing points.

The marked location was the worst-affected, with the entire left lane of the carriageway covered in black ice for a distance of 5 metres or so.
