Trigger coils not working

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 18:44, Thu 21 November 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6769194.

I reported this problem on 11th November. On the same day there was an accident in this area resulting in the arrival of the air ambulance so it was severe. The sensors do not trigger the lights which for some time have reverted to the default sequence regardless of the traffic flow. I have seen many examples of people jumping these lights including on one occasion a stagecoach double decker bus. There have been deaths at this junction because of this. My report has been Closed down because apparently this is too difficult to fix. Less difficult I suggest than to fix dead people who have been killed by your negligence in not repairing the faults. Human nature is such that anyone who has experienced the interminable wait at these lights may be tempted to jump them to a greater degree than previously. In the spreadsheet world of the civil servant I daresay that the subtleties of human behaviour do not count but in simply erasing records by closing reports down to keep the target setters happy, you are exposing people to extreme danger. So I am reporting it again, as indeed I will to the police.
