Gate blocking footpath

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 08:07, Thu 21 November 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6764093.

At St. Mary's Church there is a metal railing between the footpath and Market St. It has gates which can be opened to enable coffins to be taken out of hearses and then returned to them. The pavement is now much higher than when it was constructed, so the gate cannot be fully opened. This is obstructive and dangerous. In July, you hired the church's community room for an exhibition. I explained the problem to the organiser who said that she would send someone to deal with it. This has not happened.
