Deep hole
Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 23:29, Sun 17 November 2024
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6754276.
My wife and I regularly use the A46 into South Gloucester from the Keynsham/Bath area. On our return journey to join the A420 towards Bristol we often use Gorse Lane but owing to the arrival of darker hours for safety reasons we have decided to continue further south towards the A6/A420 roundabout.
Unfortunately, for the second time running, we have encountered a major defect in the highway surface approximately 20 to 50 metres south of the entrance to the Pennsylvania Petrol Station on the eastern side of the road when our vehicle drops into a deep Road Gulley or manhole which feels if if the cover is missing or set too low for the road surface.
I would be very grateful if you could despatch, as a matter of urgency, an Officer from the Authority to investigate this issue and respond with what action you have or propose to take to remedy this dangerous situation.
Thanking you in anticipation,
Geoffrey H Place
