  • Thank you for your report.

Under the terms of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 litter clearance on A roads lies with the local authority, Wealden DC.

Our environmental team have been made aware of the rat activity and comment that rats are attracted to litter as it presents free calorific food. So once the litter is removed the rats will leave. We can check the area once this is done and look for nests, but we have no records of previous history of rat infestation in the area .

If nests are found within our operational boundary then we would arrange for traps / poison depending on how close they are to public footways.

    Kind regards
