Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 12:22, Wed 13 November 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6726356.

Member of Public has reported to DCC concrete falling from bridge on to PROW - Caller uses the footpath that is under this bridge regularly and has noticed more and more concrete falling off and bits on the footpath that she walks along, alongside the river. Caller said the metal work is exposed and she is concerned with how much keeps falling and said someone will be injured if it falls down at the wrong time.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us.

An inspection of the structure was undertaken in March this year and the spalling concrete was noted during the inspection.

A scheme to repair the structure will be added to our forward programme of works and will be undertaken when resource allows.

In the meantime, we'll arrange for an inspector to visit the structure and remove any new, loose or spalling concrete.

    Kind regards
