Light sequencing causing large queues on a52

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 16:39, Monday 28 October 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6668533.

In the morning (before 7am) the lights on the dual carriageway a52 are on green for 30 seconds, and the stragglethorpe road traffic, which is much smaller, is on green for around 90 seconds. This is causing long queues on the a52 westbound.

Updates

  • This problem is getting worse, the traffic is backing up on the A52 back to gamston island, because of the delay in the lights changing to allow traffic to turn right onto stragglethorpe road. The same problem occurred last year, this is going to cause a serious crash.

We aim to keep the traffic flowing as smoothly as possible for all directions and recognise that on occasions we might need to make changes.

If we find that any changes are due here, we will undertake those once we have established a suitable solution.

    Kind regards
