Overgrown vegetation blocking the road

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 20:59, Sunday 27 October 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6664809.

Overgrown vegetation has started to block the road at Freeland Close. I was advised the vegetation is the responsibility of the National Highways but happy to be advised otherwise. The growth of vegetation means the road is becoming unsafe to have two-way traffic driving along the road.

Location - Freeland Close PO19 3SA

Updates

  • Thank you for your report about the overgrown trees along Freeland Close.

We've already been made aware of this issue when we advised West Sussex County Council, that there's a 2-5m strip of land alongside Freeland Close that is outside our operationally maintained boundary red-line, owned by a third party.

I’m sorry but we won’t be undertaking any works to trees not owned by ourselves.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
