I would like to bring to your attention the atrocious design of the south bound exit of J34 M6. I use this junction on an almost daily basis and it is not uncommon to find myself sitting in a queue of stationary vehicles on the main carriageway waiting to filter onto the exit slip road. It is a potentially lethal situation as this junction lies around the corner of a blind bend heading south. Vehicles approaching at speed are suddenly confronted with a stationary queue of traffic on the inside lane and are then forced to either swerve into the middle lane to avoid it or get caught in the queue themselves. How there has not been a serious collision is a minor miracle. This whole regularly occurring situation is all down to the appalling design of this exit. All of the exiting traffic for Lancaster and Morecambe is funneled down to one lane through some lights to pass under a bridge that is not wide enough for two lanes in that direction. On the other side of the bridge is another absurdly timed set of lights causing all Morecambe bound traffic to block the path of Lancaster bound traffic creating a tailback. Unbelievably this entire junction was redesigned in 2016 and I'm sure someone got paid an extraordinary amount of money to come up with this ridiculous and simply dangerous design. I strongly recommend that someone takes this matter in hand and makes a few obvious changes to this exit before there is a serious incident.
