Traffic Lights not working properly from the M4 Eastbound sliproad

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 16:13, Wed 23 October 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6650621.

The lights are staying green for too short a time. This is causing delays everyday of upto 10 minutes at 7:30am... this is visible throughout the day on Google Maps which tracks the traffic. This has been a change since the roadworks over the weekend of the 18th-20th October. Before that there were NEVER delays there (I have commuted via this route daily for 16 years, so I would know).

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning the traffic lights.

We've visited the site today and found that resurfacing has taken place which has removed some of the vehicle loop detection on the eastbound offslip. This is being arranged to be reinstated by the resurfacing team.

If you require any further information, please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards
