Further to previous report (FixMyStreet ref: 6626413 ) there is not a lock on the gate nor is there a warning sign indicating the gate leads (from a public footpath) onto a motorway. It is near maintenance steps and a cabinet - suggesting access between the footpath and motorway for maintenance staff.- see google image. https:[email removed],-0.7999281,3a,37.5y,217.06h,80.71t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sV1hF9WsQ2A_921S3Bch7LQ!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D9.[phone removed]%26panoid%3DV1hF9WsQ2A_921S3Bch7LQ%26yaw%3D217.[phone removed]!7i16384!8i8192?authuser=0&coh=205410&entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTAxNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D Whilst the gate does not have any faults (as indicated by your inspector) the lack of a lock or warning signs may encourage accidental encroachment of pedestrians onto the slip road. It may not be usual practice to sign a motorway for pedestrians but there is usually a continuous fence without unlocked pedestrian gates. In most cases a motorway is obvious but in this case, being a slip road, adjacent to a public right of way, with limited visibility and being unable to see either the junction or main motorway may require special consideration.
