Traffic lights mistimed

Reported via iOS in the Traffic lights (NH) category by Samuel Dawson at 08:03, Tue 15 October 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6615659.

Traffic is queuing badly on the m1 at junction 14 southbound of the m1. The traffic lights at the slip road, roundabout over the m1 and the A509 into Milton Keynes are all mistimed, this results in bad dangerous traffic. Some of the near misses I have seen here are scary. The ques are around 2-3 miles long of stationary traffic c but this is a bad pile up in the making. Highways keep brushing this under the carpet so I will keep posting this until this is resolved and lives are not being put at risk.

Updates

  • Same for the northbound Jct 14, queuing back on the motorway for over half a mile this morning. This has been getting progressively worse for some time now and nothing has been done with the traffic lights to allow the traffic to flow.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

On further investigation by our technical team the responsibility for the maintenance of the traffic lights on the southbound M1 at junction 14 lies with Milton Keynes Council.
