M6 bridge beam coming off its bearing

Reported via mobile in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 11:39, Tue 8 October 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6565447.

One of the M6 bridge beams appears to have moved on its bearing leaving little support. It's on the south side of M6 where it crosses the Grand Union Canal adjacent to Star City. The deep beam that crosses the canal has a wide bearing but the beam immediately east has packers that overhang the supporting column. You can see the end of the beam on Google earth and I have photos taken from the canal towpath and from under M6. I can't believe it was built like that and I think it must have crept off its bearing due to cyclical thermal movement or due to forces from traffic.
