The road ditches are completely silted up and the pipe which should enable the ditch water to flow beyond the underpass is entirely blocked. Because the pipes and ditches are blocked, the pump, which was provided as an emergency backup, was operating continually; this caused it to fail.
The Underpass has been flooded for years and has been reported several times without rectification. The flooding is causing extensive damage to the neighbouring agricultural field.
