Vehicle in wrong lane

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 07:10, Thu 3 October 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6545456.

Yesterday evening, about 9.15pm, we were on A30, travelling towards Bodmin from Okehampton. We saw a number of traffic vehicles ahead, 3 or 4, on after another, warning us of roadworks. There were signs on each of these, saying 'on slip-road'. These vehicles were on the verge, not on the carriageway. Then as we approached the slip-road itself, there was another of these vehicles, but it was actually on the carriageway. This was incredibly dangerous, as we thought all of the vehicles would be either on the verge or the slip-road. Luckily I was only doing 60 mph, but I was about to be overtaken by another car. Luckily that driver realised too that this was wrong, and slowed down to let me move into the outside lane, otherwise I would have crashed. Please tell your teams to make all signage and positioning of vehicles correct. The A30 is a dangerous road with idiot speeders, tailgaters and cutting in too quickly, without having Highways vehicles causing accidents as well.
