Blocked drain, pavment pitched inccorectly standing water draing into my property

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 19:28, Tuesday 1 October 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6539961.

Blocked drainage , causing excess water to drain into my property this is also due to the pavement being pitched at the wrong angle when pavment works were altered many years ago. I have raised this issue/concern many times over the last 15 years. We have been advised and promised prevoulsy that the amendment to the pavement would be completed within 2 years , we are still waiting !!. Reference given by yourselves is the following: 23176103 last contact 21/09/24 at 13.17 and still not rescived a response.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. Our inspection team has confirmed that the pavement was raised a couple of years ago to prevent flooding, and unfortunately, nothing further can be done at this time. We can arrange for sandbags to be delivered to the location to help prevent flooding; however, this will restrict access to your driveway.

There is a scheme to improve the channel in the footway, but it is not currently scheduled until 2026/27.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Should you require any further information, please contact our Customer Contact Centre by email, or alternatively you can call us on 0300 123 5000. Please quote the reference number 23187107 so your enquiry can be dealt with more quickly. If you’re not satisfied with my response or how I have handled your enquiry, please see our complaints procedure for advice on what to do next.

    Kind regards National Highways
