Trees, Hawthorns overgrown

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 10:32, Tue 1 October 2024

Sent to National Highways 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 6536998.

The trees are out of control. Some have died and fallen others just need annual trimming. Overhanging garden fences and pushing them over. Preventing light from entering gardens. I have said the same thing last year but nothing was done.

  • You’re legally entitled to cut back any overhanging vegetation up to your boundary where required. If you are unable to carry out this work safely from the ground then you should consider employing a private contractor to prune back overhanging branches on your behalf. If you are experiencing issues with your TV or satellite signal, we would advise you speak with your TV service provider and consider moving your aerial/satellite dish.

Felling trees as a precautionary against potential future damage would be terrible practice and detrimental towards the environment

If your concerns relate to tree safety or property damage, please reply to this email with a description of your issues and photographs so that we can investigate further. More information can be found on our tree management webpage, available at: https://nationalhighways.co.uk/ our-work/ environment/ biodiversity/ tree-management/ Kind regards National Highways info@nationalhighways.co.uk 0300 123 5000

  • I nearly died when I got a quote to have someone do the job. So they will just grow and grow and fall down and the damage will be part of a claim against the USELESS council that cannot be bothered to look after their plantings. GOOD LUCK DERBY.
