Overgrowing plants into cycle lane

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 20:48, Tue 24 September 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6511960.

This part of many people's cycle commute is wildly overgrown. It is incredibly dangerous anyway, but is now even more so, with visibility reduced on the bend to see if cars are coming, which are typically approaching 70mph. I am hoping something can be done to improve this life threatening crossing.

Updates

  • Thanks for sorting out this small stretch of road/motorway last time. There has since been a build up of sludge and debris on this crucial stretch of road for cyclists. Please can it be made more safe. The speed limit is 50mph on the approach, whereas recently the opposite side of the road has been reduced to a more sensible 40mph. Can this done for this side too, at least for a few hundred metres after where cyclists are expected to cross the motorway from a standing start.
