Traffic Lights for pedestrian crossing out of service

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 14:34, Thu 19 September 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6490589.

Traffic Lights on this crossing have been out of service for a while now and cannot see an obvious reason why they have not been put back in service(ie no roadworks in vicinity). The A259 is a very busy road and this crossing is used frequently by pedestrians as adjacent to Ravenside Retail Park..It is hazardous currently trying to cross this road with the crossing out of service.

Updates

  • Crossing still out of action as at Monday 23 September 2024. Pedestrians, including vulnerable elderly adults and severely disabled children from Glyne Gap Special School are having to dodge heavy traffic to cross road to major shopping centre, swimming pool and restaurants. This is a repeat problem.
