Sign is so faded it is unreadable.

Reported via desktop in the Sign Obscured (NH) category by Colin Woods at 19:15, Sun 15 September 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6474474.

The sign needs replacing. It’s an insult to the residents of Cheltenham & Gloucester and their unreadable attractions. The only unreadable sign between A30 Bodmin in Cornwall and M5 Cheltenham. Needed replacing at least two years ago.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning tourist signs.

We're currently in discussion with all tourist destinations/facilities (Gloucester Quay-Historic Docks, Gloucester Cathedral, Regency Cheltenham and Forest of Dean) displayed on these signs to determine eligibility for signing. Tourist signs are third party funded assets, therefore paid for by the applicant and not by us. Tourist signs do not get renewed automatically and are subject to a third party application process and meeting eligibility criteria under CG 152 of the Design Manual for Roads & Bridges. As we've been liaising with multiple destinations, we're still awaiting a response from all affected parties.

If you require any further information, please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards
