Poor northbound slip road surface

Reported via mobile in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 07:02, Sunday 15 September 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6472567.

Last Sunday 8th September 2024 I went off the road, by way of a skid, in my 47 year old classic car at this location. Leek Wootton A46 sliproad (North)

Having used this junction many times in the past, in the same vehicle, without incident, at about 30-35 mph, I feel that there was either some oil based contamination on the road surface. This particular road surface surface appears to be very worn and smooth.

If there were contaminants on the surface, I feel certain that this contributed to the predicament in which I found myself.

This has resulted in about £9000 of damage to my vehicle which is currently underway. I wondered if this slip road required maintenance. The southbound sliproad is in noticeably better condition.

The weather was fine and the lighting was good, no injuries, people or other vehicles were involved. The time was about 11:00am.
