Public Footpath Sign - Post rotted throughout

Reported via desktop in the Damage to Sign (NH) category by Andrew Williams B.Sc. Psych. at 13:08, Wednesday 4 September 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6435412.

I performed a 'Sign Audit' for the town council a few months ago and found many dangerous issues. One such issue is located on the left side of the A49, north of Crossways at Church Stretton, as heading north.

This dangerous issue is a 'Public Footpath' sign where the base post is rotten all the way through and therefore a danger to persons/pedestrians entering Lower Leasowes Nature Reserve via the A49 crossing or if a vehicle collides with this sign.

If a collision happens with a vehicle there will not be any strength in the post of this sign to remain in its position and therefore could injure the motorist, cyclists or persons/pedestrians or riders with horses.

Requires replace as soon as possible or dismantle please.
