About time you lot sorted this stuck 40mph limit in the hindhead tunnel, lazy is the polite word I can use for you lot

We have been experiencing intermittent issues with the traffic signals at the tunnel. To ensure safety of the travelling public, we’ve had to implement a reduction to the speed limit whilst we work on rectifying the issue and undertake the necessary testing to ensure the system is stable. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

If the issue is with the traffic lights, why not just cover them with a hood like they put on bus stops and other faulty traffic lights? That tunnel functioned for years without traffic lights. I'm sure it could be functioning in a similar way now.

Why oh why is hindhead tunnel northbound still at 40mph after over 6 months? Are you incapable of sorting it? There is no obvious reason for the limit. Please explain and give a date for resolution of this issue. We motorists are sick to the back teeth with it.

Is fixing a light at the Hindhead Tunnel so that the 40 mph limit is removed going to take longer than digging the tunnel?
