Concrete Cancer Under Eastbound Carriageway

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 11:42, Monday 26 August 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6398719.

Rusting steel rebar has caused concrete spalling under the eastbound carriageway. Steel reinforcement is clearly compromised and may be causing delamination of reinforcing structures below the roadbed. There are indications that previous attempts to effect a repair have failed and rusty water has percolated through the coating material suggesting other rebar is corroding and failing.
