Overgrown hedging is damaging fencing beside the A47

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 12:00, Saturday 17 August 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6367471.

I would like to make you aware of our back fence which is being pushed by the shrubs, trees and brambles behind - this fence is situated on the back of the A47 which isn’t accessible to remove and cut back any of the shrubs and trees.

This is causing our fence to be leaned on, which has been getting worse in the last 4 years we have lived here and now causing the fence to lean, which in turn will eventually collapse. There is also a couple of the posts that have come unattached to the fence which is also not keeping the fence attached properly.

A while ago there were works completed to cut down trees and clear the vegetation near the fences, however we were informed this didn’t include near our home. After this, we noticed more branches etc were left behind our fence which I believe has also put a lot of weight on the fence
