Shared Cycle/Footpath unfit for purpose/unsafe

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath issue (NH) category anonymously at 18:44, Friday 16 August 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6365878.

The section of shared cycle/footpath from Riverside retail park towards Billing Aquadrome has deteriorated over time and is now too bumpy, too narrow and too poorly surfaced to fulfil its original purpose. This is a major part of the Northampton Norbital Cycle Route and is used by lots of commuters both on cycles and on foot. It requires widening, resurfacing and generally upgrading to a safe standard. Shared cycleways in far less used locations are significantly better. This route needs urgent investment if National Highways in serious about encouraging active travel.
