Advertising banner blocking visibility
Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 15:26, Wed 14 August 2024
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6356236.
Vista Balloon Flights have installed an advertising banner blocking the visibility through the safety fence at the crossing of the A45 exit slip at the riverside roundabout. I do NOT believe this is a designated advertising space. By blocking the visibility at the barrier a wheelchair user can now no longer determine if there are any vehicles approaching the crossing without physically being in the road. The presents a serious safety breach in addition to being a potentially unauthorised space to advertise. You now have to stray so far into the live lane during crossing to check if the road is safe to cross even whilst supposedly safe for pedestrians to cross

Thank you for contacting National Highways about flyposting.
We have passed this to one of our local inspectors to confirm that this is on our property. If it is we will then either contact the company concerned and ask them to remove their material from our property or remove this ourselves.
Kind regards
National Highways
