Street lighting needs a re-lamp.

Reported via mobile in the Not working (NH) category anonymously at 22:37, Monday 5 August 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6320461.

Hi, I noticed this section of the M6's street lighting hasn't been changed to LED unlike other sections nearby. Currently, Most street lighting between J26 and 27 don't work but some do which means that there not disconnected. It would be nice to see this areas lighting fixed as safety during the upcoming winter months would be improved. Please don't replace this stretch to LED as sodium is better for your eyes at night. Thanks

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report.

We have already had our inspection team attend this location and assess the issue.

We are aware of a fault in the lighting circuit on this stretch of the motorway and are currently in talks with our contractors to arrange the requirements to begin repairs. Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people. We currently do not have a time frame as to when these repairs will be completed. We would like to reassure you however this is still under investigation and has not been forgotten. This area is currently not part of our LED upgrade scheme.

    Kind regards National Highways
