Temp Traffic Lights still in place for months after bridge was hit

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category by Cllr. Terry Gill at 16:34, Thursday 1 August 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6304416.

As a County Councillor for this area I wonder if you could give me an update on when repairs to the bridge over the A63 Dale Road, Elloughton in East Yorkshire, so the temp traffic lights can be removed?

Updates

  • Dear Cllr Thank you for your report.

There is currently no set timeframe for removing the traffic management at this location.

An assessment is needed to confirm the structure’s capacity to carry the full load based on its current condition. The process is likely to take at least 3 months.

If it passes, we can remove the traffic management, however if it fails, the traffic management will need to remain in place until repairs are completed. This is likely to be sometime next year, although until we've assessed the structure, we can't guarantee a timeframe.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
