Claverton Hill/A36 Junction Dangerous Due to Parked Cars Obstructing View

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 16:09, Wed 31 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6299455.

The junction at the bottom of Claverton Hill where it joins the A36 has recently been made incredibly dangerous to use when turning right onto the A36 due to a large number of cars parking on the west side of the road, just north of the junction. I have been told by colleagues people park here during hot weather in order to use the nearby Warleigh Weir. Due to the curve of the road all of the parked cars completely block the view of traffic coming southbound on the A36 meaning to turn right out of the junction the only thing that can be done is to creep out to the middle of the road which puts the driver in a very dangerous situation. Cars need to be prohibited from parking around this location in order to make this junction safe again. It will only be a matter of time until a horrible accident is caused by this situation.
