Litter that has been spread by grass cutting

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category by Kate Dougal at 18:35, Monday 29 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6290545.

The verges of the A1 were strimmed/mown today and the litter within these verges was cut into pieces and spread around. The entire area is a disgrace. If you are going to cut grass and clear verges then surely the litter should be picked up first. It's a total disgrace.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting us via FixMyStreet on 29 July 2024 about the litter on the verges of the A1 following grass cutting. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to contact us.

We can advise it’s the responsibility of the local authority to litter pick on the A1. You can find the relevant local authority for an area using the ‘Find your local council’ tool at gov.uk/find-local-council and make a report about litter on their website.

    Kind regards
    National Highways
