A453 bound vehicles swerving across Kegworth lane users

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 23:11, Tuesday 23 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6267496.

All lanes except the right hand lane, closest to the roundabout, peel off towards Clifton on the A453. Anyone heading towards Kegworth needs to use the right hand lane to carry on around the roundabout accordingly. I frequently encounter cars in the second lane at the lights, destined only to be the middle lane coming off onto the A453, confidently cutting people in the third lane up, emergency braking or swerving in shock. They don’t realise they are in the wrong lane as people aren’t reading the lane signs in the absence of the road markings. It is really dangerous as they do not indicate as they think they have right of way. They are having near misses with Kegworth and M1 south bound traffic but they also run the risk of being taken out by vehicles legitimately using the right hand lane on the roundabout to filter off in the 3rd (right hand overtake) lane on the A453. I witness near misses because of this every day.
