A50 drivers dangerously swerving across Hotel road lane users

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 22:59, Tuesday 23 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6267434.

Daily I witness people in the second lane at the red lights, which should just be for vehicles heading to the A50, drive confidently straight in front of people setting off from the lights in the hotel lane. Again, tonight, I got angrily parped by a car in the A50 lane making this error who nearly drove into the back of me as I legitimately drove straight ahead from the lights in the third lane to head to the hotel road. They were actually aiming for the M1 northbound. It really is dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. Locals are encountering near misses frequently with non-locals who aren’t reading the lane signs in the absence of the line markings. I don’t know whether I am safer being in the correct lane or the wrong lane, it is occurring that often.
