Light for cone on carriageway

Reported via mobile in the Debris/spillage (NH) category anonymously at 19:54, Friday 19 July 2024

FixMyStreet ref: 6251483.

Traffic one light had become detached and draught from a passing vehicle moved it into my path. Luckily I straddled it and it stuck under my car so I had to go onto the coned off hard shoulder to see what was there and remove it. If one of my front wheels had hit it, the battery would have damaged my tyre and potentially caused a multi car accident. I discarded the light on the other side of the armco barrier. Rejoining traffic was scary.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the redundant traffic management equipment.

We will arrange for one of our local inspectors to investigate this. Where we have identified redundant equipment, this will be removed. However, in some cases we do leave items in place for future use or for safety reasons.

    Kind regards
