White lines and other markings - dangerous

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 06:57, Friday 19 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6248332.

As you join the Edwalton roundabout from the A606 towards Nottingham, both of the lanes are marked up for leading to the A52 Derby. However as you join the roundabout, the line on the floor that directs the first lane to stay left in the first lane is faded and with the sharpness of the corner, drivers in the first lane often pull out into the second lane for the A52, cutting those of that were supposed to be in the second lane of the A52 from the second lane of the A606. I have been cut off there on almost a daily basis and nine times out of ten, the offending vehicles think the driver in the second lane is the A606 is in the wrong. I have witnessed accidents here. To avoid future accidents, the lines need to be repainted to highlight where the first lane drivers need to go as they enter the roundabout. To further reduce the risk of accidents occurring, an additional signpost should be introduced on the approach for the roundabout, displaying where each lane goes due to the unnatural sharpness of the corner the first lane of the A606 must follow. Without these improvements, more accidents will occur and could lead to serious injury.
