New footpath unsuitable for cycling and running

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath issue (NH) category anonymously at 15:22, Thursday 18 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6246551.

There is a footpath that is “temporary” until 2027 that is 48hrs old and is already unusable for walking and running. The material used is too soft, like sand and the surface is wet now, what will it be like in winter. The material used is clay. The old footpath has been in place for a long time and it was the route for bicycles, runners and walking. Taking the A428 is not an alternative for bicycles and pedestrians. There is an urgent need for a new surface on the new footpath be usable
