Left lane Only markings

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 21:11, Tuesday 16 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6238381.

Good evening, I use this road every day and there was nearly a collision the other day. This part of the road has been a part I am often anxious to drive on. At the traffic lights at the whitewater pool roundabout; travelling northbound; the TURN LEFT ONLY road markings are practically non existent, and because the roundabout has three lanes going under the overhead road; many drivers; unknown to the area assume that the three lanes leading up to the roundabout mean, all three can travel under it.. instead of noticing that the Left lane is ONLY for travelling by Left, towards the Heworth roundabout. I’ve used this road for years but because there has been umpteen jobs carried out on the road; I’ve assumed the road markings would be re-painted; but they never have. Like I first said; I was driving home from work and it was only 3:00,pm, bright sunny day; and a car tried to go straight ahead despite being in the “left hand lane only” (but he obviously couldn’t see the arrow as it’s so faded.) Please repaint this road so that we don’t have a collision in the future.
