Potholes

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 19:48, Tue 9 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6210588.

In Lane 1 of the M180 (W) between Grammar School Ln overbridge and the River Ancholme, there are 2, almost identical, potholes on the far right side of this lane.

The first pothole occurs as the carriageway starts to straighten towards River Ancholme, in the vicinity of Grammar School Lane. The second, identical in size and location within the lane, occurs just before the River Ancholme bridge (and the horrendous change in height of the road surface).

They are both oval shaped, longer than they are wider and deep enough to cause issue.

To avoid you either have to take a line far left of centre and follow the hard shoulder marking or far right, nearly in contravention of lane 2.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. We appreciate you getting in touch and providing such excellent details of the location of the potholes. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways
