Dead cat on motorway between Jct 9 and 10 eastbound m62
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6198314.
Yesterday, before 8am I noticed a dead cat on the M62 eastbound between Jct 9 and 10. It had a red collar (maybe with a bow?) and looked like it had only recently been knocked over as it was still fully in tact.
Apologies for the delay in reporting it. I added it to a local Facebook page for pets and was only just advised I can report to Highways. I didn't think it'd cause an obstruction so didn't think it needed to be reported for safety reasons.

Safety is our highest priority and any animals on the carriage way that pose a risk to vehicles and their occupants will be removed as quickly and safely as possible.
Household pets, such as a dogs and cats, will be retrieved, and we endeavour to reunite pets with their owners if they can be identified through microchips or other identification.
Wild animals, lying off the carriageway, on verges or the central reservation, are normally left to naturally decay. However, they will be removed if they are considered a hazard, a danger to public health or there is a statutory obligation for testing or removal.
Our local inspector team will make these assessments during their regular safety inspections.
