Traffic light timing is not working as it should causing huge tailbacks

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category by Katie Hearn at 12:28, Sat 6 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6197561.

The past week there have been huge tailbacks getting onto junction 14 from the A38 due to the traffic light sequencing not being as it should. This has come to a head this morning (Saturday) when traffic early morning should be light but there are huge tailbacks again purely because the traffic lights aren’t working correctly. A 1 minute journey is taking around 20 mins. Please can you sort out the timings.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning the traffic lights at junction 14 of the M5.

This issue has been caused by resurfacing all of the southbound offslip taking all of the loop detectors out.

These are due to go back in this week which will get the timings back on track again.

If you require any further information please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk
