Tree branches encroaching over the roadway

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 23:35, Wed 3 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6189053.

An Oak tree has been allowed to grow very close to the edge of the carriageway, when approaching the roundabout from South Hykeham.

Today we saw a curtain sided vehicle actually catch all of the branches that over shadow the carriageway.

As this Oak Tree ages the branches will get more dense and be able to damage Curtain Sided trailers and trucks

The kerbs and road edge around the roundabout are also overgrown.

National highways should no relay on the passing traffic to maintain and restrict tree and shrub growth.

Cars and Lorries are already try to keep a little left as they approach the A46 .
