Kerb stones have been left damaged by deliveries over lots of years, and are now a danger when we drive in and out.

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath issue (NH) category anonymously at 18:02, Monday 1 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6178312.

Both kerb stones, have moved and become sunken, and are a big issue when getting in/out. The verge is sunken, so the car also sinks into the ground and then hits then kerb stone. We have had numerous flat tyres/punctures. we are unable to avoid. When it rains it then floods and becomes a muddy mess

Our team visited the site to assess this location on 5 July 2024. There is an existing drop kerb access for this property (No 120) as for other properties on Upper Brighton Road . It appears looking back on Streetview, the driveway has been widened with the removal of a short section of wall and a gate pillar making the driveway width significantly wider than the crossover. If the location requires a wider crossover to match the width of the new driveway width, the property owner will need to go through the relevant local planning process and pay for the crossover to be widened once planning consent is granted. Alternatively, driving slower and between the kerbs at the access point and not over adjacent kerb.

    Kind Regards
