Traffic light stupidty

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 08:37, Mon 1 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6174788.

Putting traffic lights on a roundabout that small is entirely unnecessary… instead of putting in a roundabout to promote a steady flow of traffic with people leaving and joining, the traffic lights cause backing up of cars and people turning right to block off the lane of those going straight ahead? It worked so much better without traffic lights when they were not yet installed. Please reconsider this use of lights.

I understand your frustration and I’m sorry to hear about the disruption and delay the traffic lights at New Monks Farm roundabout has had on your journey to work, and I’m sorry I’ve not been able to get hold of you over the phone successfully.

We’re aware the traffic lights installed as part of the New Monks Farm development in Shoreham has caused issues for road users along the A27, and we’ve raised this issue directly with the third-party developer, please be assured that our team remains in regular contact with them to try and resolve any issues.

If you have any further questions or would like to raise any concerns directly with the development team about the impact of this development, as these are third party works, we believe you would be better served by contacting the developers directly, as they would be best placed to respond to your concerns. You can contact the developers directly at helpdesk@a27lancing.co.uk or by phone at 0800 488 0227, or you can visit their website here.
