Cones blocking off left hand lane

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 08:07, Mon 1 July 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6174650.

Cones blocking off left hand lane on a very busy road causing unnecessary traffic for miles behind. No workers ever present even on nights. No change to the road, think it’s been forgotten about.

Updates

  • Thank you for your enquiry of 1 July 2024 about the lane closure in place on this bridge. We understand your concern and appreciate the time you've taken to contact us about this.

After investigating your enquiry, we can advise that this is a permanent lane 1 closure implemented in the interest of safety. This closure has had to be installed at the Mount Pleasant flyover due to issues with the waterproofing of the bridge. It is currently deemed unsafe for drivers to utilise lane 1.

We've scheduled repairs which should allow the road to be reopened. A Full weekend closure is planned to repair the bridge deck. This is due to commence on the night of 5 July and should be complete and removed by the 8 July.

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email info@nationalhighways.co.uk. Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards, National Highways
