Overgrown grass obscuring view when crossing A52

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 15:23, Friday 28 June 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6167696.

When turning right onto Rectory Lane, Barrowby from the A52 eastbound, the view of oncoming vehicles (often travelling at around 60mph around a bend) is obscured by tall grass in the refuge/island. I had a near miss the other day when travelling along the A52 westbound - a car waiting to cross the carriageway into Barrowby had pulled forward to see around the vegetation and was partially blocking the overtaking lane. A car in the overtaking lane swerved in front of me to avoid a collision; thankfully, having used that junction myself recently and being aware of the lack of visibility, I had slowed right down in anticipation.
