Vegetation overgrowing footpath/ cyclepath for about 2 miles between Southrrham roundabout and Burgh Lane.

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 12:38, Mon 24 June 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6146730.

Vegetation overgrowing foot/cyclepath, with some sections so bad you can't passing opposite directions. Takes the width well below the government guidelines for cycle paths. The new path between Firle andPolegate has been cut regularly but the existing path has been ignored. Has been like this for a couple of months.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report.

We’re sorry that on this occasion the time frames to cut back the vegetation has taken longer than we would’ve liked. I can confirm our team visited the area on 26 June 2024 to assess the vegetation at this location. We’re in the process of prioritising areas that require additional remedial work whilst our maintenance teams look to catch up with the vegetation maintenance within the wider area. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and hope to resolve these issues as soon as it's possible.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
