Badly damaged road surface and no road markings

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 17:04, Sunday 23 June 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6143444.

The road surface around this area is broken and has been badly damaged. There are signs in place saying 'no road markings', and I am aware from a different report on this roundabout that you are liaising with KCC to schedule works. This isn't good enough as the road has been in this condition for many months. When can we expect to see some improvement?

Updates

  • Thank you for your report.

We understand you frustration and appreciate your patience.

The scheme to renew and update the layout of junction 10 in conjunction with Kent County Council (KCC) is underway. The designs have now been completed and subject to the sign off process by all stakeholders imminently. Following sign off, this scheme will be subject to costing and funding processes before any suitable partners are appointed to conduct the work required. Whilst we appreciate the time frames to deliver this scheme won’t be as soon as road users would've liked. Please be assured that we’ll look to deliver this scheme to improve the layout at this location as soon as it's possible. In the meantime, we'll continue to monitor the road at this location as part of our regular safety inspections, and we'll raise any additional remedial work if required.

    Kind Regards

    National Highways
