Traffic light failed M6 Jcn 2

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category by Mark Phillips at 16:57, Friday 21 June 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6138218.

M6 junction 2, pole 28 hasn't been working at all for some weeks. This often causes confusion because as the lights aren't indicated as 'not working', drivers think it's the usual problem of just one lens not working but actually none of them are. It would help a lot to at least put some sign on it to say this pole isn't working, until it can be fixed properly. It's a very busy junction and really needs to be fixed more urgently.

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue. If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
