Overgrown footpath

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath issue (NH) category anonymously at 07:59, Wednesday 19 June 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6125382.

This shared path and cycle path is on a busy junction and can't be safely avoided by cycling on the road. It's very overgrown and overgrowth needs cutting back.

Updates

  • Thank you for your email of 19 June 2024 about an overgrown cycle path. We understand your concerns and appreciate you taking the time to contact us about the issue.

Looking at the photos provided, the location appears to be outside of our footway/cycleway boundary. The local authority will be responsible beyond this. In this case it will be Northumberland County Council who can be contacted via https://www.northumberland.gov.uk/ Home.aspx.

We will however complete a site visit next week to confirm. Any action that needs to be taken from our side will be actioned following the visit.

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email info@nationalhighways.co.uk. Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind Regards
