Are National Highways also going to take the opportunity of ongoing lane closures due to new Emergency Areas being constructed all along this section of All Lanes Running M1 to litter pick the grass verges and remove large crash or old tyres, damaged road works cones and all the accumulated debris from the drains, verges and concrete road channels? There are still large sections of concrete channel that have not been cleared of anything for many years along this section of M1....

  • Thank you for raising this issue. National Highways intendeds to take advantage of the opportunity afforded by the scheme to deliver routine maintenance activities including litter picking. However the presence of the roadworks makes access to the central reservation more complex and routine maintenance of these areas will be conducted as afforded by the adjacent scheme works Kind regards National Highways
